North of England Ambulance Service provides non-emergency transport between patients’ homes, hospitals and other treatment centre’s.
The patient transport
service (PTS) is for people who are unable to use their own or public transport
because of their medical condition.
Each year, we convey thousands of patients across the UK, providing a vital link between their homes and treatment centre’s.
We use a specialist range of vehicles. These enable us to carry people comfortably whatever their needs, whether they require a stretcher, a wheelchair or simply a reassuring hand to help them in and out of a car.

All PTS vehicles are designed with patients’ comfort and safety in mind and are crewed by staff depending on patient needs, all staff have comprehensive medical training, patient moving & handling training and specialist driving skills.
We provide a patient transport service that is a flexible, patient-centered service giving value for money. We currently provide non-emergency transport for Primary Care Trusts, Acute Trusts, Community Hospitals and Private Clients across the UK. A programme of investment in new vehicles, technology and staff training will help ensure we deliver and maintain a high-quality service for the future.
